This Akira class starship is a funky new CGI ship with no secondary hull, and a "catamaran" like nacelle arrangement. It also features a "roll-bar" mounted weapons pod, a design element carried over from the Miranda Class ships.The computer renderings below were scanned from the premiere issue of "Star Trek The Magazine". These are by far the best Akira pictures ever published, and it is extremely rare to find all five head on views like this (in fact, this is the only Trek ship I've ever seen illustrated like this). Since no physical model was built, these are the closest things to "studio model" pictures we'll get.
